Northwest Ordinance of 1787

On July 13, 1787, the United States in Congress Assembled developed the Northwest Ordinance, an official document establishing the precedent by which the United States would expand westward across North America; that is, by the admission of new states rather than by the expansion of existing states. Therein, Article 3 exhibits one of many historical instances whereby government recognized the fundamental importance of religion in public life. This ordinance was affirmed by the US Congress On August 7, 1789. This “Northwest Ordinance of 1787” greeting card is available in my Politix web shop at Zazzle.
